Pedaling for Progress: PathGuide Continues its Support of Tour de Cure for Third Consecutive Year

Cancer has touched the lives of so many, affecting not only the individuals facing the disease but also their loved ones. The Tour de Cure, British Columbia’s largest cycling event to raise funds and awareness for cancer research, recently took place in the beautiful Fraser Valley. More than 2,000 riders and volunteers participated in the two-day event to raise money for the BC Cancer Foundation.

E.B. Horsman & Son, Western Canada’s largest independent electrical supplier and a company known for its commitment to making a positive community impact, assembled a team of 12 riders that conquered 177 kilometers in this year’s Tour de Cure. For the third consecutive year, PathGuide was proud to contribute financial support to the E.B. Horsman team of riders.

All told, the E.B. Horsman team was able to contribute an impressive $50,850 for cancer research while placing 25th among the 161 registered teams. The Tour de Cure raised a remarkable $7.1 million this year, demonstrating the impact this event can have on furthering cancer research and support services. Roy Bragg, E.B. Horsman’s team captain, VP of Operations, and a member of PathGuide’s Latitude Advisory Board, described the significance of this cause by sharing:

It is a great cause that most can unfortunately relate to. The EBH staff, as well as the families and friends of our riders, provide unwavering support every step of the way. The expressions on their faces at the finish line, as they conquer challenges that once seemed insurmountable, is truly a sight to behold. These moments encapsulate the essence of pride and unity within our exceptional group. The achievement of our goal, a tribute to those we’ve lost, holds a profoundly moving impact that resonates within each of us. The bonds forged through these shared experiences create friendships that stand the test of time, adding to the profound sense of belonging within this remarkable event and community.

Roy’s words capture the spirit of giving and caring that drives our dedication to raising funds for BC Cancer Foundation. While PathGuide did not participate in the Tour de Cure, our commitment to backing this cause and E.B. Horsman’s riders is solid. We are pleased to play our part in supporting a cause that so many of us can relate to while also serving as a tribute to those who have lost their lives or suffered from cancer.

As we reflect on the success of this year’s Tour de Cure, we are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such an incredible event that brings together the community in support of such an important cause. PathGuide extends our sincere appreciation to all the participants, volunteers, and organizers at E.B. Horsman and the Tour de Cure for their dedication and commitment to making a difference in the fight against cancer.

Together, we can make meaningful progress toward a day when cancer is no longer a life-threatening disease, but an ailment of the past. Thank you, E.B. Horsman, for leading the ride to a cancer-free future. For more information about the Tour de Cure and how to get involved, please visit https://tourdecure.ca/.
