FAQs
The value brought by the Latitude system depends on the size of your enterprise, the owner/president's vision for the business, and the biggest challenges you're facing with respect to shipping accuracy, labor productivity and other attributes common to your warehouse. Once the facts are known, we can usually project a very attractive return on investment.

How can we automate our warehouse until we get it bar coded? A. Bar coding warehouse locations is included in the core Latitude implementation. The system provides for the creation of bar coded shelf and bin labels that uniquely identify each bin location. Bar coded stock number labels can also be created for bins containing non-bar coded parts. With insight into your warehouse operations, PathGuide recommends the best alternatives for location labeling and works closely with you in the initial phase of WMS installation. Q. We receive material that is not bar coded. Is this an obstacle? A. No. Items received without bar codes can be easily labeled at the point of receiving. Latitude allows items to be bar coded on the fly as needed. Q. Can we use our existing RF terminals with the Latitude WMS? A. The Latitude system works with contemporary and most earlier RF devices from Intermec (including Norand) and Symbol Technologies. For more information consult with PathGuide as to specific model numbers of equipment which are compatible to a Latitude system. Q. I'm a Prophet 21 User. Does the Latitude WMS track free and allocated stock at the bin level? A. No. Free and allocated inventory continues to be tracked in Prophet 21 just as it's done today. Latitude tracks the physical inventory (commingled free and allocated material) and its movement throughout the warehouse locations whether it's at the primary bin, secondary bins, overstock, at receiving, on a put-away cart, etc. Free and allocated inventory in Prophet 21 is automatically synchronized with the physical count in bins and totes maintained by Latitude. Q. What is the price of the Latitude warehouse management system? A. This depends on many factors, including the warehouse size, whether branches are involved, the number of warehouse employees, the type of transactions you wish to automate in the warehouse, etc? Q. Can PathGuide provide batch hand-held terminals to automate my warehouse? A. No. Radio Frequency (RF) terminals used with the Latitude PC network provide real time updates to your host enterprise system regarding the status of inventory transactions in the warehouse. POs and sales orders are released in the host system and immediately accessible by the RF terminals. Real-time inventory management is only possible with RF terminals. |
