Latitude Slotting Optimization Module
Slotting is the idea of planning an efficient warehouse by choosing stock placement based on how frequently each item is getting picked. Knowing this, the travel time and distance for warehouse workers to pick orders can be greatly reduced.

The Latitude Slotting module uses Item Statistics compiled each night from Sales Order Lines to essentially rank inventory by pick frequency. In the Module, the user can set up rules and ranges to create "velocity classes" for their inventory based on the pick frequency. Then inventory can be automatically categorized into the velocity classes based on their frequency statistics, and the rules that were defined. In the warehouse, bins are also categorized into the same velocity classes based on their placement or proximity to the staging area. When the slotting analysis is done, the items are matched to the best location based on the velocity match.

For example, a user could choose a row of 100 bins to be the "high-velocity" row, closest to the staging area. Then they could set a slotting rule to categorize their "top 100" moving items as "high velocity". When the slotting analysis is done, the top 100 items would be categorized as "high-velocity", and a warehouse job can be automatically created to rearrange items to the bins that match their velocity class.  New receipts would also be put away to their newly assigned bin. Then the items would be in a location that makes them easier, quicker, or more convenient for the pickers to get.
